🙌 Word-up! 🙌
This has GOT to be the word I notice misspelled on social posts more than any other...
YOUR vs YOU'RE
It's a super simple one to remember, but perhaps that's why it so often falls through the proof-reading gap - particularly if your posting in a hurry!
... see what I did there?
No?
That proves it then 😉
Here's how to be sure you get it right...
🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹
Read your sentence replacing 'your/you're' with YOU ARE.
If it sounds right, choose YOU'RE.
If not, it's YOUR.
🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹
YOU'RE is a contraction.
It's a shortening of YOU ARE with the ' in place of the A at the start of ARE.
YOUR is a possessive pronoun.
It's used to show that something belongs to you.
Some examples...
🔹This is your laptop. (It belongs to you)
🔹It's all your fault. (The fault belongs to you)
🔹Call me when you're free. (You are free)
🔹You're welcome. (You are welcome)
Got it?
You're on your own now 😉
